How do I start or practice a session from the workspace?

From the workspace you do not just see your upcoming sessions—you can also start them. Each upcoming session includes a blue Start session button that launches the live video conference for that event or appointment.

Starting a live session

When you click Start session, vrtual.ly opens the video conference room for that session. Attendees who have booked will only be able to join once you, as the host, have started the session. Until the host starts it, the session is not available for participants to enter.

This gives you full control over when the room opens and prevents clients from waiting inside a session that is not ready.

Practice mode

You can also start the video conference in a practice mode. In practice mode, the session opens for you as the host, but attendees do not see that the session has started and cannot join yet. This is ideal when you want to:

  • Look around the video interface before going live.
  • Test your microphone, speakers, or webcam.
  • Review your screen sharing setup or slides.

Practice mode lets you get comfortable and make adjustments without any pressure from a live audience.

Video conference settings

From the workspace controls for a session you can also open Video conference settings. Here you can adjust options such as:

  • Webcam selection and resolution.
  • Microphone and audio output settings.
  • Other session-level preferences that affect how your video room behaves.

Sharing the session link

If you want to invite people manually or post the link in a private community, you can copy the session URL directly from the workspace. This makes it easy to share access with your audience, while still controlling who is able to join through your booking and visibility settings.

By letting you start, practice, configure, and share sessions from one place, the workspace becomes the quickest way to move from scheduled event to live experience.
