How does the Micorsoft integration work on vrtual.ly?

Quick answer: vrtual.ly connects to your Microsoft account using secure authorization to automatically create Outlook calendar events for your bookings. No software is installed on your Microsoft account.

Connecting Microsoft

vrtual.ly does not require installing a Microsoft app. Instead, users securely connect their Microsoft account using Microsoft's authorization (OAuth) process.

  1. Log in to your vrtual.ly account
  2. From your Workspace, click the Business Tools icon
  3. Scroll to Integrations and click it
  4. Locate the Microsoft integration and click Set Up
  5. You will be redirected to Microsoft to authorize access
  6. Once authorized, you will be returned to vrtual.ly with Microsoft connected

How Microsoft is used

Once connected, vrtual.ly automatically creates an Outlook calendar event when a booking is confirmed. Each booking generates a calendar event containing the scheduled time and relevant booking details.

vrtual.ly uses Microsoft Graph access solely to create, update, or remove calendar events associated with bookings.

Troubleshooting

If an Outlook calendar event is not created, please check that:

  • Your Microsoft account is still connected
  • The booking has been confirmed
  • The scheduled time has not already passed

If the issue persists, contact support at care@vrtual.ly.

Disconnecting Microsoft

You can disconnect Microsoft from vrtual.ly at any time:

  1. Go to Workspace > Business Tools > Integrations
  2. Find the connected Microsoft account
  3. Click the Delete icon next to the Microsoft integration

When deleted, all information related to the Microsoft integration is immediately removed and the connection is fully deauthorized.

You may also revoke access directly from your Microsoft account under Microsoft Account > Privacy > Apps and services.

Data handling after disconnection

When Microsoft is disconnected, vrtual.ly immediately stops all Microsoft Graph API calls and invalidates access tokens.

No new Outlook calendar events are created after disconnection. vrtual.ly does not access Microsoft once the integration has been removed.

Historical booking metadata is retained only for reporting and record-keeping purposes and does not include access to Microsoft account data.
